Kampot peppers and salts, the KHLA range

Khla means “tiger” in Khmer, an animal that has disappeared from the forests of Cambodia and that efforts are now under way to bring back. Giving that name to a grocer was a way of saying where we speak from.

We do not own a plantation in Kampot. We work exclusively with one family who keeps full control of their farm and who commits to the specification of every harvest we sell. The packing workshop, on the other hand, is ours, in Phnom Penh, which is why the palm leaf boxes and the kraft bags look the way they do.

What you find under this name is PGI Kampot pepper, registered in Cambodia in 2010 and recognised by the European Union in 2016, in black, red, white and green. And, from the Kampot and Kep flats, salt, fleur de sel skimmed by hand and the aromatic blends made from it. The range also includes our spices and our palm leaf accessories. The peppers are certified organic under KH-BIO-154.

Everything here is also on the shelves of our three shops, in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Kampot.
